Teaching practice: day 3

Today the classes started as usual.

First duty was line duty: to maintain covid protocols in students. 

Every students was greeting us ' Good morning teacher'. I felt so happy from hearing that.

Today my period was 2nd in 9D. 

Started the class with a silent prayer: which is a usual manner in St. Mary's, Pattom.

Today we continued our study on the chapter Similar Triangles. New concept was introduced to the students through their very active participation.  

While teaching this kind of lessons we should incorporate many types of models that way students can capture the concepts in teachers mind very thoroughly. 

I prepared some models and keep my track from the very beginning to the end with a storyline. 

After the class I rested at the auditorium hall that is allowed for us. I observed some classes going on there, which is quite different from what we are studied in b.ed classes. The mode of transaction, the way of calling a student, there is little teaching aids...😅😅

After that I accompanied Emily, my classmate to her concerned class for the observation.

Her class was really nice. The key point of Emily's class is she has a very thorough content knowledge. I got so many tips from her class. She was in the girl's wing, students were supportive. But also for them, the previous knowledge was very less.

Today was a really really wonderful day.  Dr. Hari sir..... What a person!!! Excellent speaker....motivator....teacher..... Being Gifted actually a Gift?

 A new task given by Deepthi teacher : Watch an education related movie and write about the educational insight reflecting in it. Watching movies is always refreashing and enjoyable. Since it is a task now, I need to not only just watch it but also observe it in a different way, by means of the intentions. I chose the movie Gifted . MTTC ൽ ഇന്ന് " കൊല " നടന്നു😱 : ഒന്നല്ല.... അതുക്കും മേലെ.🤪

Today was really an interesting day.  The first class was Maya teacher's. She started the class by reciting a few lines:  “ Anantham, ajnatam, avarnaneeyam, Ee loka golam tiriyunna maargam; Atinkalengandoridatthirunnu Nokkunna martyan kathayentu kandu?” (“Infinite, unknown and ineffable The way this cosmos moves round; What’s found the man, sitting Somewhere there, looking on?”) –  Naalappaattu Naaraayana Menon. And started the class on the topic Realism. We travelled through the Aims of education, Harmony and curriculum related with Realism. According to realism, God is a concept not a reality. And she taught us to find happiness on every little things which makes us feel good. Try to smile more... Next class was Archana teacher's.
