Limited Edition of '95

 28/01/2022, Friday. Today I had my first online class a s a teacher. I was well prepared but my health was not that good -- I am covid positive now😬. But after all, I decieded to take the class because it was my duty and responsibility towards the students, teachers, course and towards myself.  The class started at 8 pm... In online mode there was an extra class join along with the 9D students whom I teaching offline mode. So now its 9D and 9M.  I started the class at 8 pm, continued the chapter Similar Triangles, last portion. Some of the students were so attendive and gave answer to my questions. But when I called names of some others they were not even answering. Online classes.....🤦🏻‍♀️ I used drawing pad for the blackboard work. And showed ppt instead of charts and activity cards. I took the class till 9 pm.  29/01/2022, Saturday. Today I had class from 6 pm to 7 pm. Today I started the class with a game. "Pick a number". The students need to select a number and find

20/01/2022, Thursday  .  Today I reached at the school on 8 30 am. Our school today was a vaccination center for students of age 15+. So there were no classes for students except 9, 10, 11 and 12.  So many parents and students came for the vaccination. The total area were so under the control of principal and Head master along with the police officers.  I took my last offline classes for my students today. I took the last portion of the second part of chapter Similar Triangles. I needed one more class to complete the chapter.  I selected the best group and star among the students according to their previous day's tally marks and gave small gifts. They were so happy and we end the class after saying to see them on online. After that, I got vaccination center duty. Me along with one of my friend stay there till the completion of vaccination.  Day 11 of teaching practice end today.....   More to go along with online ......🧑‍💻.

  19/01/2022. Today I reached at the school on 8 30 am. We went for signing the attendance sheet. And as usual when the first bell rang went for our duty. Later that I went for the class observation of one of my friends. Ancy. She was taking Biology for the 9th standard students. Her presentation was nice. Previous knowledge checking was done in a nice way. So many slides related to her topic were presented. Students also asking for videos to be watched. Overall it was a nice class.  Later me along with one of my friends went for mid day meal duty. I was in charge of coconut shaving.😅  Later returned to our alloted area and rested for some time.  I had class on 5th period. Today I continued to teach the chapter Similar Triangles : Sides and Angles. 6th period was also free for them so I took that class too.  18/01/2022 Today I reached school early at 8:15 am.  Waited at the resting area. At 8 35 am we all went to sign our attendance sheet. When the first bell rang, went for the duty alloted area. Since the covid cases are rising, there were a very little number of students present today.  After the duty we returned to the hall and I went for the observation of the class of one of my friends Megha. She is taking English subject to the 8th standard students at the girls wing.  It was a quite nice class. Since the number of stydents were less, the presented students were inactive. Her introduction was nice and did dictation. Then continued to teach the lesson she was taking. It was a poem : Village Blacksmith. Her pronunciation and way of eliciting answers from students was really nice. The unknown meanings asked by the students were presented through slides by her.  I had class on 2nd period.  17/01/2022 Today I arrived at the school at 8 30 am.  After signing the attendance sheet we all went for line duty. I have class at 10: 05 am. The second period. I took the continuation of Chapter Similar Triangles.  After that I went to observation of few classes of my friends. Lekshmi from physical science... Her class was really nice. The demonstration was really nice. Even I can understand so many things that I didn't know for a long time. We all should show and teach this kind of things so that students can learn more thoroughly.  Later I had my lunch from the canteen.  Empty classrooms......

 15/01/2022 Yesterday 14/01/2022 was a holiday due to Pongal.  Today I arrived at the school sharp 8 30 and along with some of my friends went to the office to sign our attendance. After that, when the first bell rang we went for the line duty. I forgot to mention that student police cadets, ncc students are all also doing the duty along with us. Those students come to the school very early.  Today since the covid cases rising unexpectedly, there were a few number of students were present. In some classes there were only 1 student and some were empty. After the tiring duty( beacusr of the heat), we returned to our alloted area for resting. I had class on 3rd period. Till then I was preparing for the class.  Since it was so hot there and all the fans were off, one of my friends went to searching the switches and found it and make it on. But then a strange thing happened. One of the male teacher came and said to my friend that to off the switch... I can't understand why he said so...

 13/01/2022 The day started with the as usual things. Later after the line duty, today I was really impressed by the prayer song. The students today sang it really nicely.  Well disciplined. I had class on 5th period. So in between I accompanied one of my friends to their concerned class to observe.  I observed some mistakes and also some very interesting tips from her and I discussed it with her. At my period, I again took the previous day topic for the second batch students.  As the previous day I gave activities to the students to be done in the groups. They all did it nicely.  Then we got to the lunch distribution area for having our lunch with students.  Today there were Avial, Sambar and salad for the meal, which was really tasty.

 12/01/2022 Today as usual after signing on attendance sheet, we straight away headed to the line duty for maintaining the covid protocols.  Students are walking in a straight line from their very first step from the school gate.  Today I had 5th period. Till then I was preparing for my classes.  Today I took the continuation of previous class. Similar Triangles : Angles and Sides.  Today I gave activities to students to be done in groups.  They all did it perfectly.  Later we were discussing about our classes and place needed some improvements. Today not much special events happened. We returned to our homes after the classes.

 11/01/2022 Today as usual we all signed at the attendance book and straight away go for the line duty to maintain covid protocols in students.  Today I have class at 2nd period, for the second batch of 9 D. I tooke the same class as previous day for the students. There were only 6 students present today and I divided the class into two groups. Even though they were less in number, the students were so acitve that I could handle the class neatly.  Today Emily, my classmate came for my observation.  After that we returned to our alloted area for resting and in lunch time we were also joined in the kichen and had a little bit of remaining food. Today's special was rice, mixed vegetable curry, salad and pickle. I am in love with the meals here.  Day 4 completed....more to go...

 10/01/2022 Today the classes started as usual. First duty was line duty: to maintain covid protocols in students.  Every students was greeting us ' Good morning teacher'. I felt so happy from hearing that. Today my period was 2nd in 9D.  Started the class with a silent prayer: which is a usual manner in St. Mary's, Pattom. Today we continued our study on the chapter Similar Triangles. New concept was introduced to the students through their very active participation.   While teaching this kind of lessons we should incorporate many types of models that way students can capture the concepts in teachers mind very thoroughly.  I prepared some models and keep my track from the very beginning to the end with a storyline.  After the class I rested at the auditorium hall that is allowed for us.  07/01/2022 Today was an amazing day of the teaching practice. We arrived at the school on time and signed our attendance sheet as usual. Then straight to our alloted area.  I visited the library there to see what it is like and what are the books available there. One of the library in main building I visited sufficient number of books that can be referred by students. First we have done the line duty... Maintaining students in the line and checking the covid protocols like wearing masks and keeping needed distances. I had classes at 3rd and 4th hr.  In 3rd hr, I occupied 9D class. There was a new bunch of students, they were the batch 1 of 9D. There were 14 students and they were more active ones than the previous.  Today I taught them the unit Similar Triangles using concept attainment model and I have won in the challenge of making them understand the concept. Now they know what are Similar Triangles. Next I will teach them the properties of Similar Triangles. 4th hr was with 8P stu

 Today our first day of school teaching practice. I was so tensed at first. But the teachers and my peers gave me full support so that I could do better. Entered the big gate of St. Mary's, Pattom school with great expectations... Because this will be the time that makes every teacher trainees a well modified teacher. Like one legend said... We need to hit at hot iron to make a perfect shape with it...,these days will be like that. As the Asia's second most student studying institution, St. Mary's Pattom school has its own pride... Principal Babu father and Headmaster  Bijo Geevarghese ( our lovely Gibi Geevarghese teacher's brother) were giving full support for us.  My concerned teacher is Manju Medayil teacher. Teacher is such a realy loving person and have a good supporting behaviour. My classes are 8P and 9D...  Jan 03, 2022. A new year begins along with a very important days in my student teacher journey. The intense teaching practice days are going to start shortly.  Today first hour took by Benedict sir and coveyed some very important contents about the different components of teaching practice in classroom. He first said about the big impacts that are the causes of small things. Next he mentioned about taxonomy of activity types.  He said about convergent and divergent thinking by giving example At last sir came with so many ideas for the entry behaviour, collaboration and formative assessment.
