Conscientization Program.

 Today I had the conscientization program. Me together with my classmate Emily organized and conducted the program for the students of my class. 

Our topic was Plastic or Planet. 

Objective : To enable the students to understand the negative impacts of plastic to our life and how to reduce, recycle, dispose the plastic wastes.

We started the program at 7pm and I started the presentation through a story. After that I showed a video and gave voice over. It shows about the adverse effects of plastic wastes on earth and the other creatures mainly the ocean creatures in this world. 
In India, according to the statistics it showed that over 35lakhs tons of plastic waste dumping occured from 2019 to 2020. The video containted some shocking news about the effects of plastic waste to the environment. 


Next presentation was done by Emily about how we can manage the plastic waste. She gave a wonderful presentation about the types of plastics according to the numbers (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) and showed pictures of them and explained which of them are able to recycle. The plastics with number 1, 2and 5 are able to recycle and reuse. Also she mentioned about how to dispose the plastic wastes and how to reduce its use. It was so effective. 


We wind up the program by showing a powerful video of the impact of plastic waste to the environment and to the animals.

Being Gifted actually a Gift?

 A new task given by Deepthi teacher : Watch an education related movie and write about the educational insight reflecting in it. Watching movies is always refreashing and enjoyable. Since it is a task now, I need to not only just watch it but also observe it in a different way, by means of the intentions. I chose the movie Gifted . Today was really an interesting day.  The first class was Maya teacher's. She started the class by reciting a few lines:  “ Anantham, ajnatam, avarnaneeyam, Ee loka golam tiriyunna maargam; Atinkalengandoridatthirunnu Nokkunna martyan kathayentu kandu?” (“Infinite, unknown and ineffable The way this cosmos moves round; What’s found the man, sitting Somewhere there, looking on?”) –  Naalappaattu Naaraayana Menon. And started the class on the topic Realism. We travelled through the Aims of education, Harmony and curriculum related with Realism. According to realism, God is a concept not a reality.
