Teaching practice phase 2: day 1

 Today was the first day of Intense teaching pradice-phase 2. I got to serve as a teacher trainee at the Govt HSS Perorkada. I have to take class on 8 C, which I wanted to take classes at first period everyday. It makes me classteacher in charge.



 I reached at the school on time.Then me and my 7 more friends signed the attendance sheet. Here, I got a chance of being from Mar Theophilus Training college a leader to our group.

We got seat at the auditorium to gest along with the student teachers of St. Thomas College.



We interacted each other and became fatends. They started them practice early, so they shared some of their experiences.

After signing my lesson template by the concerned teacher, Jayasree teacher, I went to my class 8c.

There waited 52/58 students for me.. It was really a huge number of student and the class was comparitively small.  All student were girls since it was a girl's school.

The medium I got was English medium. I started my class after greeting students.

They all seemed happy to see a student trainee teacher.. I took the chapter Equations through various activities.

I divided them into groups and they gave different interesting names to their groups.

I gave tally marks to the winning groups. The duration of the class was 40 minutes from 09:30 to 10:10.

Then I came to our resting area. It was so hot there.

Our Headmistress gave some work to us, relating to the digitalizing process of library. I typed the excel sheet which contaim the data of textbook, its author, what kind of book and its price. After sometime I passed the work to another person.




At 12:30 we went for lunch. Today duty was done by St. Thomas teachers, tomorrow will be ours. After lunch break I didn't have class. So I worked on my lesson plans.


At 3 30pm the school time ended. We returned home after signing the attendance register.

Being Gifted actually a Gift?

 A new task given by Deepthi teacher : Watch an education related movie and write about the educational insight reflecting in it. Watching movies is always refreashing and enjoyable. Since it is a task now, I need to not only just watch it but also observe it in a different way, by means of the intentions. I chose the movie Gifted . Today was really an interesting day.  The first class was Maya teacher's. She started the class by reciting a few lines:  “ Anantham, ajnatam, avarnaneeyam, Ee loka golam tiriyunna maargam; Atinkalengandoridatthirunnu Nokkunna martyan kathayentu kandu?” (“Infinite, unknown and ineffable The way this cosmos moves round; What’s found the man, sitting Somewhere there, looking on?”) –  Naalappaattu Naaraayana Menon. And started the class on the topic Realism. We travelled through the Aims of education, Harmony and curriculum related with Realism. According to realism, God is a concept not a reality.
